More From The Banking Lobby

Some wisdom from Floyd Norris:

"It is not desirable to have politicians setting accounting rules at the request of lobbyists. Ms. Deans and Mr. Mott add:

“Any further political intervention in standard-setting could undermine, perhaps fatally, the goal of a single set of high-quality accounting standards used worldwide.”

It is really galling that the banks get the politicians to bail them out, and then insist on being allowed to change accounting rules so no one can know just how bad off they are."

The banking lobby is really smoking.
